my great grandma, mom's grandma, who we all called "grandma great" died on thanksgiving. blanche skeem williams burgess was just shy of 102 years old. what an amazing life she had. think of how the world has changed during all of her years! when she was a little girl she met chief joseph. she rode a horse to school. her first job as a k-8th grade teacher she made $125 a month. $100 for teaching and $25 for janitorial work. she loved to read and loved to learn. she was a very educated woman. she was a mother to 6 children. grandma great was strong and kind. she had bright red hair and was so sad to let it get white! family was always grandma great's priority and biggest accomplishment. she was proud of her family and it was important to her for us all to be close.
she lived a long, fullfilling life. we love her and are happy that she is reunited with her husband and other family members.
grandma great, just before her 100th birthday

i'm so glad we were able to go to the funeral. it was on saturday in buhl, idaho. it was so fun to be able to see a lot of my family members that we don't get to see near enough and to celebrate the life of our grandma.

I remember you talking about her 100th birthday party a few years ago. What a life she must have led! Imagine all the things she saw and did. You are so lucky to have a GREAT grandma in your life for so long. How cool!
So good to see you guys. Wished we would of had more time. Quincy is even more cuter in person and how fun to snuggle with West. Your house looks beautiful. Tell Sean that we will see him on facebook. Merry Christmas.
