Halloween Happenings

we had such a fun halloween weekend. halloween should be on a saturday every year, like thanksgiving is always on a thursday. seriously, who do we need to talk to? we started our celebrating on friday evening. sean and i had a few friends over for a dinner party. i planned a more elaborate dinner party about a month ago. with a large menu, more people, more games, and more activities....then came west. SO, the plans changed. i still wanted to do it just on a smaller scale. the day before i was seriously thinking of canceling. I'M SO TIRED. :) but i'm so glad i didn't! we had so much fun! i just made my traditional halloween chili and cornbread. we had caramel ice cream and cinnamon churros for dessert. we played a fun halloween game and laughed A LOT. it was a lot of extra work on friday for me, but it felt good to actually accomplish something other than diapers, baths, and meals for babies. a giant thanks to my mom who held west, occupied quincy, and helped me get everything together that day! on halloween day quincy spent the morning with my mom at the harris's house painting pumpkins...i wasn't there with her, but i'm hoping jodee got some pictures. sean went fishing and i got to spend the morning with west. it was nice. i put him in a little halloween outfit. he is growing bigger every day! when my mom brought quincy back i took some pictures of them before quincy's nap. quincy has been so excited about her bee costume. she loves wearing it! and looked adorable in it too. and don't even get me started on west in his frog costume! this was a 0-3 month costume. giant for west. my mom helped me alter it in the body and in the hood to fit him a little better. he looked so cute and was nice and warm while we were out trick-or-treating. the harris family came over that night. avery was tinkerbell and lo was a bunny. i love kids in costumes! amy, ryan and griffin, paul and andrea and their kids came by too for a little bit to go trick-or-treating at sean's grandpa's house so he could see all the kids. he lives right next door to us. quincy had the time of her life trick-or-treating. she would say, "treeeat!!" and then "thank you!" then she would sit down on the porch and try to open the candy she had just received. it took her a time or two to remember to put it in her elmo bucket and move on to the next house. it was a great halloween. quincy's first time really enjoying the holiday and having our new little west so recently joining our family. a halloween to remember for sure!!
