easter this year was nice. low key, since it was conference and we stayed at home. (not sure i like the whole conference/easter combo by the way.) on friday we painted and decorated eggs. i decided to blow out our eggs instead of boil them. i had never done it before and it was a little harder than i thought. i didn't use a tool or syringe to blow out the egg, i just blew it out myself! i had no idea how hard i'd have to blow! my cheeks and head were killing me! needless to say, we only did 5. Q also helped me make carrot cake cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. a perfect easter treat!
we planned to go to the thanksgiving point egg hunt on saturday and decided not to that morning because it was so cold. maybe next year.
quincy was so excited for the easter bunny to come. i hyped his coming to our house all week long. when i first explained it i said he was sort of like santa, he comes at night while you're asleep and leaves you treats and presents. she talked about the easter bunny a lot and was thrilled to open a gift from my aunt myra that was "an easter bunny!!!" of her very own. but a few times throughout the week she said things like, "santa is coming!" or "i want to give santa a hug."
easter morning she woke up at 7. when i brought her out of her room she saw all our baskets in the living room. she yelled, "the easter bunny came!!!" she went in and told her dad and then downstairs to tell grandma. (we were so glad that my mom could come and stay with us for easter!) we opened our baskets and then Q searched for her special disney princess eggs that the easter bunny had hidden for her...then she hid a few again for her to find later.
the easter bunny brought me some adorable new green and yellow plates! my mom surprised me with 2 more boxes of them so i would have a larger set. i LOVE these plates and was excited to have our easter brunch on them.
for brunch we had homemade strawberry jam and croissants, a breakfast cassarole (carma's recipe!), fresh fruit, lemonade, and chocolate milk. simple and easy! but so good!
we enjoyed conference, quincy painted (her new favorite activity), then we went for a drive up south fork. it was a good easter sunday!

gorgeous easter spread. i'm always jealous of your craftiness and hosting abilities, let alone the way you go all out for holidays. i might be a lame mom!
Thank you for including me in your celebration of Easter! You do holidays with style and love for your family.
I was sooooo asleep when Q flung open the door to shout at 7 am....she was excited and so cute! West is getting so big. He is still "the image of the week" on Nicole Hill's blog. It is a beautiful picture of our sweet boy!
So happy Q received her Easter Bunny! She's so cute! :) Looks like you had a wonderful Easter! Love the plates and the beautiful table settings. Way to go Stace!
