yesterday we went to the DC zoo with some friends. it was a HOT day, but we had a lot of fun! quincy is loving learning animal names and the sounds they make, so it was the perfect outing for her.
at one part of the park there are giant towers with lines connecting them. orangutans climb up the towers and across the lines. (not a good picture. i am hoping rose got better ones that i can steal from her blog:) ) and a video of quincy watching them go across...she had no idea what to say, but she liked it!!
this was my favorite thing we saw. the gorillas. they were so close and even though i didn't get the best picture, if you look close you can see that this gorilla is holding a little baby in her lap. he was looking over at us. it was so cute!! quincy got so excited when she saw the gorillas, but she didn't know what they were so she just started yelling "moo! moo!" i said, "no, not cows baby. monkey."
yes, i put a leash on my kid. her new word is "backpack". she is also is getting sick of sitting in her stroller all the time. i let her walk around sometimes, but the places we go are so busy, it makes me nervous. so this was my solution! a target bought, pink puppy dog backpack (it's a kid leash). :) she loves it.
can't wait to visit the zoo again!

how fun! Her bow is so cute:) I bought one of those backpacks for Lincoln he loved it for about 10 min! You're lucky she will allow u to use it! Live it up!
Ohhhh! she is sooo cute and I miss her so much. She is getting to be huge! See Sean, leashes are a good thing in some places! He didn't believe me when I said I used one on him and the others when they were little. I would have liked to have used one when they were teenagers but they knew how to undo the straps. Love, Jill
