this is the title for my young womens lesson on sunday. i have been reading it and a few talks that go along with this message. the point of this lesson is that the words of god (through scripture and prophets) should be our standard when coping with worldly philosophies.
i had a conversation with jodee the other day about how bad our world is and how even in america, things are very scary and unstable.
the lessons in the yw manuals are always good for the girls. this one, i believe, is especially important for them (and me) to hear at this time. these are some of the topics we will be discussing:
Worldly Philosophies
*divorce
*no need or desire to have children
*abortion
*immorality
*pornography
*smoking, drinking, drugs
there is a gospel principle or truth to oppose each of these worldly philosophies. i am not even that much older then the girls i teach, but i can't believe how much worse our world has gotten in the last few years. i've heard my whole life that we are living in the last days. i truly believe it now. but our heavenly father has surely prepared us for these times and has made it clear what we should be doing. (note to self: i've GOT to get my food storage done!!!!)
