November 21, 2008 Remember Me?

okay, so it has been a while....i was trying to think of how i am even going to catch up! here are a few quick things:

i am obsessed with these shirts from target! scoop neck, long sleeved, long at the waist, and on sale right now for $6.99!! i bought black and white and am going back for more colors. the are great for layering!

i made this bread recipe from pantry secrets on monday with mom.  one batch made 2 loaves, a pizza crust, and i think 18 rolls! don't worry that it's all gone except for one loaf. i will be making our thanksgiving rolls with the same recipe.
                   10 1/2 c bread flour
                   1/2 c sugar
                   1 tablespoon salt
                   3 heaping tablespoons saf-instant east
3 tablespoons liquid lecithin (don't measure, just pour quarter-sized amount for one tablespoon)
                   4 c hot tap water

mix dry ingredients. add lecithin and water. mix for 1 min and check consistency. if dough is too dry add more water. if dough is too moist, add more flour. mix for 5 minutes. after this mixing, do  not add any more flour or water to dough! spray counter and pans with pam. shape loaves and cover with a dish towel. let rise 25 minutes. bake at 350 for 25 minutes. this recipe makes 4 loaves.  *for whole wheat bread use the same recipe but add one c of applesauce as part of the hot tap water. mix for 10 minutes.

this takes an hour, start to finish!! the possibilities are endless!! this is pantry secrets blog.

and to go on the bread i made this jam again.

we had our ward's young women in excellence program this week. irene and i were in charge of refreshments. i ordered cupcakes from macy's they were really good. we got 110 for 36 dollars! SUCH a good deal. i called around everywhere, they were the cheapest. i had them do a smooth piping on top to make them not look so much like grocery store cupcakes. so if you are needing party treats, macy's is your place! irene made this punch, it was delish!
1 liter shasta diet grapefruit soda (or fresca)
1 can white grape frozen concentrate
                       1/2 a bag of ice
that's it! i want to make this for a holiday party. it was a big hit with everyone.

and now a few new photos of q! :)
