February 5, 2009 Yesterday

here is what happened to us yesterday while out and about.
planned on going to old navy.
stopped at amara first to browse and chat.
left amara and had quincy on my hip.
grabbed key out of pocket and unlocked doors.
q grabbed key. i sat q in her NEW BIG GIRL CARSEAT! (she loves sitting forward! really, she isn't supposed to for another 6 weeks. but i couldn't take stuffing her in her other carseat anymore. i know she can face the rear in this one, but she is happier looking forward, which makes us happier. am i breaking the law? if so, don't tell anyone.)
back to my story....
took key from her and put it on driver's seat.
buckled quincy in her NEW BIG GIRL CARSEAT!
shut door.
walked around car.
tried to open my door.....LOCKED!
seriously.
tried all other doors.
LOCKED. and Q is inside.
either she hit the lock button in the 5 seconds she had the key or i hit it when i took it from her.
either way, i had trapped my poor babe in the car all alone.
called sean. called the police. (so embarrassing)
played peek-a-boo with a happy little girl who thought her momma was SO funny.
waited, waited, waited about 5 minutes is all...felt like forever.
quincy starts to bawl.
SO SAD.
after waiting about 10 minutes total, an officer shows up to save the day!
he was nice, but seemed slightly annoyed.
the door is opened!!! quincy got a really good snuggle from mom.

then we went to old navy. they are having a sweet sale by the way. go get some spring clothes for your kids! i got quin a bunch of shirts for 3, 4, and $5. and some pants and a couple clearance sweaters too. i got a coupon in the mail for 30% off a reg. priced item for women. i browsed around and found this:

i was just going to tell you all how much i love this dress....so comfortable. i can dress it up or down. i love that it has a tie at the waist. and i like the detail at the neckline and all the gathers. so before i was going to tell you all of that, i searched the old navy site for this picture to post. it took me a while to find it there. guess why? this is a maternity dress. dead serious. i bought it not knowing that yesterday, and i even wore it to young womens last night because we had to dress up. i feel a little weird about it now....it fits, i swear. it's just a little "swingy" below the tie. i am still going to wear it. and i will keep it around in case i ever get huge.
