when avery was born jodee told her that she had "a closet full of dreams" waiting for her at home. on our way home from the hospital i said to sean, "i can't wait for her to see her room!" having a little girl is way too much fun! the clothes, the bows, the SHOES, the jewelry. (please know that i do not like a gaudy kid, but a few accessories are adorable!) here are a few pictures of quincy's room. it's not quite done. i still have to finish the crib skirt, and a pillow for the crib. the glider isn't here yet...i pray nightly it will get here soon! and i have picture frames to hang by the changing table also. sooner or later, these things will get done. for now, here it is! (remember, this was all done in less than three weeks!)
i found these wall flower stickers at ikea a while ago. you can't tell very well in this picture, but they are a metalic bronzey pewter color. so pretty! the picture frames i found at target match exactly.
this is the quilt i made for her. camille sent me this pattern (it's called sweet cheeks, she designed it!) and i knew exactly the fabrics i wanted to use for it. i LOVE how it turned out. camille will notice it isn't exactly right. i changed it a little, like i always do to patterns, mostly because i am lousy at following instructions and have to compensate for something i have done wrong. thanks camille!
i didn't photograph this well, but the shelves were brown. while sean and i were at the hospital all weekend, my mom and jodee covered them in cute black and cream dot moda fabric. so cute!!
and
here is her armoire! because we don't have another bedroom upstairs,
quincy is in our office/dining room and it doesn't have a closet. which
i am glad about now because i LOVE how this looks in the room. i got it
on clearance and it was stained dark brown. jodee and i painted it
cream and then painted the raised trim black. the pulls are from
anthropologie. (orange beautiful featured a baby room a while ago that
had a dresser painted similar. ours turned out great!) the storage bins
are form target.
we love being in this room (the chair really
needs to come!). i was hesitant to paint the walls too girlie of a color.
this room is right off our entry way. but i feel like this oh so light
lavender is perfect! i had a lavender painted room at home in idaho so
it reminds me of my room.
(why is this last part underlined???)
